Cranston Parish’s Outreach Efforts Touch Lives and Strengthen Community Bonds

In a beautiful display of faith in action, the parishioners of the Annunciation Church of Cranston, Rhode Island, decided to use their microgrants to extend their outreach efforts beyond the walls of their church, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need within their local community.

One of the primary initiatives was providing meals at a local homeless shelter for an entire week. Parishioners were responsible for preparing and serving meals, with different time slots delegated to various volunteers. While the generous donation of food is always appreciated, the volunteers' heartfelt service and caring presence left a lasting impact on the clients at the shelter. Many of those served expressed their gratitude not only for the meals but also for the warmth and kindness shown by those who took the time to care for them.

In addition to their outreach at the McCauley house, the Annunciation parish used microgrants to support the Mae Homeless Fund, contributing to a local family facing housing insecurity by assisting with their first and last months' rent. This gesture of assistance highlighted the parish's commitment to supporting families in need.

Cranston’s outreach efforts were so impactful that they inspired others to give. A local furniture company owner, moved by the kindness of the volunteers, offered his services and moving truck to transport donated clothing to charitable organizations, further amplifying the community's generosity.

Through these loving acts of service, the parish has shown what it truly means to live out God's teachings — by caring for the less fortunate, offering a helping hand, and providing hope to those in need. The Cranston parish’s outreach has made a profound difference, and their commitment to serving the community in Christ’s name is a shining example for us all.
